hours a week to discuss clinical cases, concerns, and increasing clinical skills. Group supervision
may also be available.

Group Therapy
Groups can be a great place to learn new skills and information, as well as to connect with and learn from others who share similar goals. The discussions are focused on the program and the goals agreed upon by the group, and there is often a planned number of meetings. Shana and Rachel have both facilitated groups for various curriculums/goals, but one of their favorites to do together is Positive Solutions for Families, which focuses on skills and tools for parents of young children. Check out Holding Hope Counseling’s Facebook and Instagram pages for updates on groups being offered.

Life Transistions
Life transitions of any kind, even wanted changes, can be challenging. They often bring an array of emotions and can be overwhelming. Deciding on next steps and preparing for change, navigating the adjustment process, and settling into the new normal – no matter where you find yourself in the transition process, therapy is a good place to find support to successfully navigate the challenging season of life.

Child & Teen Therapy
Child and adolescent therapy may look different than traditional talk therapy. Children learn best
through play, so interventions often utilize books, games, art, and more while exploring emotions
and thoughts or teaching skills. Significant adults in their lives (parents, grandparents, foster
parents, etc) are also included in treatment to learn how to best support the children and/or
adolescents in their lives.

Telehealth
Telehealth, meeting through an audio/visual call (ex. FaceTime or Zoom) or phone call, can be a good way to meet when distance, weather, or other factors make meeting in person difficult. Holding Hope Counseling offers audio/visual telehealth through Simple Practice, which is a secure system that keeps your data safe.

CAMS Therapy
CAMS (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality) is an evidence-based suicide
prevention practice. The goal of the CAMS framework is to work together to keep the client safe
and out of the hospital while reducing suicidal thoughts, plans, or intent. The CAMS framework
is currently used for ages 10 and up.

Trauma Therapy
Trauma is defined as a distressful experience, typically involving fear of harm or death of self or others close to them, that is outside a person’s ability to cope with related emotions, thoughts, or behaviors. Shana and Rachel use interventions, such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), to reduce the stress from a traumatic experience.

Grief Counseling
We can experience grief during and after any significant loss – the death of a loved one, the end of an important relationship, and many more types of events. Even when something is a wanted change, we can still experience grief for the things that are being lost in the transition. Grief can come with many complex and difficult thoughts and emotions, and though there are models of the grieving process (you may have heard of the 5 stages of grief), everyone experiences grief in their own way.

Couples Therapy
Whether you are dating, engaged, newlyweds, long-time spouses, empty nesters, or anywhere in between, you may be finding yourself thinking about the value of couples therapy and whether it’s right for you. Couples therapy can help you to manage challenges in the present and the future through gaining insights, education, and skills. Using the evidence-based Gottman Method, Rachel can help you find the areas of your relationship that are working well and those that may need some attention, and assist you in strengthening those areas that you wish to improve.

Student Services
Students face many challenges and transitions that may affect mental health. It is common for students to experience overwhelm, stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. These challenges can affect all areas of life, so it is important to address them instead of waiting in the hopes that they pass on their own. Because they understand the challenges that students face, Shana and Rachel offer reduced out-of-pocket fees for college students. These spots will be limited, so check out the Insurance & Pricing tab for more information and contact them about availability.
